He's coming home tonight!

Thursday afternoon. TCB's flight home is scheduled to land here at 10:30 p.m. tonight. On a different day, I might have told him to get a taxi and I'd see him when he got to my place, but not today. Today I'm bouncing inside, knowing that he'll be mine again tonight. He's been grouchy lately when we talk on the phone, I think because he's got that wretched head cold everyone and their brother is suffering through, and I don't care because I just want him home. We don't live together and we don't see each other during the week and I don't care because I just want him home. Home, home, home! I had no idea I would miss him this much.

In other news, my first appointment with Gloria in nearly two weeks is tomorrow. I hope we do some Reiki and massage because the stress from work is really beating me up. I've had killer headaches twice this week and it's not the holiday season because I haven't done the shopping mall thing at all. My shoulders hurt, too. I know that I've said it before (and I'll say it again): I need to stop managing people and just manage projects. I think, however, that opportunities might develop in that direction in 2007. (I really hope so.) My reputation as an organizer is pretty well known and I'm being assigned as liaison to a project outside my immediate team but within our business unit, so I'm hoping someone there will say, "Denise is indispensible to us and we want to pay her the same money she's making now without assigning her any direct reports!" It's either that or the Lotto.

I haven't been to see Alcott since 12/23 and I'm not happy about that. I wonder what he's doing tomorrow night and if he'd like to go to dinner? It's tough when work is giving me such a thrashing, but he's the best stress relief in the world if only I can push through the quicksand of inertia.

Inertia. Bleh.
