Love Your Body, Day 7: The eagle has landed

Last night, for the first time since I started this effort last week, I got eight hours of sleep. I knew when I was driving home at 5:00 p.m. and almost unable to keep my eyes open that I was on the right path. As I forced myself to stay awake until 9:00 p.m., my heart was light with the knowledge that tonight I would sleep soundly, and I did. I woke up this morning with the alarm at 6:30 a.m. and then reprogrammed my alarm for 7:00 a.m. and slept another 30 minutes. Ah, blissful sleep!

I did NOT sleep well from Friday through Monday nights, however, which is what caused the extreme sleep deficit I ended up with last night. Friday I stayed up watching DVR programs and then had to be up and ready to get Alcott and his siblings by 11:00 a.m., so that was probably about 6 to 6-1/2 hours, and then Saturday I had Alcott's youngest two siblings with me until after 11:00 p.m., so I didn't even get into bed until 1:00 a.m. - another 6-1/2 hours at most. Sunday night I had coughing issues that kept waking me up and TCB called at 10:45 p.m. - 5-1/2 hours. Monday was about 6 hours, for various reasons. Basically, I'm still short about 11 hours over the last week. Fortunately, tonight is another chance to get a straight eight.

By the way, tomorrow starts another week of Love Your Body, so I'm going to add taking my daily vitamins to the list. This is sort of cheating because I started it about 10 days ago but, since it's my list and my rules, I'm fine with it.

So, eight hours of sleep and my vitamins every day!
